1.
You put a hole in my back with your double edged sword but somehow you dodged the blow You put a hole in my vessel and I've been sinking to a new, new low Is a wild animal worse than a wild imagination? I put myself in danger with my own manifestations A beast with a lust for blood will seek out it's prey in a glutton for punishment They'll exploit all of their shortcomings and use them to their advantage Digging up deeper to find new ways to nullify all of their leverage The dirt that we sling over our shoulders Will fill the holes where we buried our courage
2.
sweet tea 01:41
I could think of a thing or two to say to your face but I'll bite my tongue You should have thought twice before you bold faced lied or at least you should have held your own Our ideals are too different How could I've overlooked it for so long? Boy I don't care who you are... You oughta know what's right from wrong Negligence for issues or just general ignorance Either I look at it the same and it won't be dismissed How is it so hard to know where you should draw the line? I won't ever wrap my head around this non-victimless crime
3.
What have you gotten yourself into? You pissed everything you had away and no one cared because the evidence was obvious They shall not hear out the words you say You stabbed a man on Church Street to collect the debt that he would never pay And as they take you to the gallows, there were the words that you proclaimed May an oak tree sprout up from my heart, the roots will grow and spread and take it's place to prove to Heaven, God, and everything else above me I swear I was innocent that day And just outside those graveyard walls, that oak tree stands to this day Nearly 200 years have passed since the execution and I know that he still haunts his shallow grave
4.
cuticle song 05:14
I could bite my nails into the quick and chew the skin off my fingertips But it won't do any good to make me bleed They'll claim it's just a phase when the things that haunt you possess the way, the way you stop feeling at home in your own mind But I know better than anyone that it is darkest before the sun Just keep your headlights on and we'll make it home Unwelcome sense of impending doom coerces you to exist in the nest room and forces your consciousness to go blind But I know better than anyone that what seems good for you is bad in the long run and you won't even know until it's gone
5.
What seems logical to the majority will be maddening for a few And they have us outnumbered, so what are we to do? With stupidity at it's finest and it's finest men out front Reason has no power here Tenacity bears the brunt What is routine for the spiders will cause panic amongst the flies Caught in their webs and just waiting to inevitably die When there's so many people who are compliant to fall in line when clearly what they follow is not God's intended design

about

This is a collection of songs that are all inspired by growing through negative experiences, unlearning bad habits while battling mental illness, and escaping toxic surroundings.
